Adjudication is typically used in construction disputes, but can be used in other disputes concerning consumer, civil and contractual issues.
It is helpful in the construction industry as it allows for a project to continue despite any dispute whereby the objectives of the project can still be achieved with minimum delay and cost whilst the dispute is being resolved. Adjudication is provisionally binding and enforceable by summary judgment unless a different decision is arrived at by arbitration, litigation or through the agreement of the parties.
