The mediator world appears to be busier than ever, with the economy picking up day by day and the awareness of mediation becoming greater amongst the legal profession, judiciary, businesses, organisations and the public as a whole, more and more people are turning to mediation and mediators to assist in the resolution of their disputes.

Equally more and more mediators are expanding and building upon their initial mediation training with further mediation training so that they are up to date with the latest mediation techniques.

The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators who are a global organisation who are a leading authority on mediation and arbitration are holding their seventh mediation symposium on Thursday the 9th October 2014 at the London offices of international law firm Clifford Chance.

The theme of the event revolves around Online Mediation – The Challenges and Opportunities for Todays Mediator, The Rt. Hon. Lord Justice Briggs will be delivering a keynote address, the day will revolve around a range of topics by some of the leading names in mediation, some of whom are practicing mediators themselves.

Aled Davies will be discussing tomorrow’s mediator, other mediators will be introducing and discussing online mediation, new skills for old mediators, engaging parties in mediation amongst other topics.

CEDR one of the leading names in the dispute resolution world here in the UK as well as overseas, are also hosting two events in October 2014. The first will take place at their headquarters the IDRC, Fleet Street, London on the 28th October 2014.

The event is geared around mindful negotiation and mediation, emotion management, looking at the behaviour of parties in a mediation to include their legal advisors.

On the following day, the 29th October 2014, CEDR are hosting an event at the Livery Hall, Guildhall, Gresham Street, London, EC2V 7HH, entitled Shaping the Future of International Dispute Resolution, discussions will centre around the use of mediation as well as arbitration.
